My Sister's Keeper (2009)

My rating: ★★★★★★★★ 8,5/10
Drama
USA, 2009, 105 min
Stars: Abigail Breslin, Walter Raney, Cameron Diaz...

Anna Fitzgerald looks to earn medical emancipation from her parents who until now have relied on their
youngest child to help their leukemia-stricken daughter Kate remain alive.

I've already seen this movie when I was maybe ten or eleven, but I didn't catch the point then. But yesterday it was different. At first I have to admit that I love Abigail Breslin - she looks so smart in every movie she plays.
Then there is a role played by Cameron Diaz - Sara (Diaz) was an extremely stubborn person and at first I hated her, but then I realized she was a person who really loved her sick daughter. But I have to say I think she was a negative person in a movie - Anne (Breslin) meant for her just spare parts and her Sara's son? No one noticed him, poor boy.
I write negative now, it's not about the movie, but about Sara (Diaz).
In fact this is one of the best movies of this genre I've seen recently. Reviews don't lie. Breslin showed her best face and played her best and you can see it. My sister's keeper is a very good movie and there is also a very beautiful lovestory (and very short) and it all is very touching and I recommend it to you so =)

P.S. - We could again predict an 'American End' but in a smaller amount.

The Help (2011)

My rating: ★★★★★★★★ 8/10
Drama
USA | India | United Arab Emirates
Stars: Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard, Octavia Spencer, Jessica Chastain

An aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s decides to write a book detailing the African-American maids' point of view on the white families for which they work, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis. (IMDB)

At first I thought I would like to read the book first, but then I wanted to watch something with my mum and she didn't really fancy the idea of watching Ruby Sparks, so I had a mission to choose something suitable for my mother. So after a long time I have first thought of watching this movie I turned it on...
...And it touched me and you have to see it to know why. In fact, this part of American history has nothing to do with me, but it was interesting to see this rendition. Emma Stone is a person, that you look at and see she has a character. It is an interesting person in this movie and every person in this movie has an acting talent and this is amazing.
Of course, there are cons, too. For example the American kind of telling stories. Something important is unsaid and some things are exaggerated. But I was surprised that in this movie I liked the happyend. Because most of the movies people watch are American and you have to get used to their kind of movies or their stupid happyendings...

Spring breakers (2012)

My rating: ★★★★ 4/10
Teenage | Drama
USA, 2012, 94 min
Stars:  Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine, James Franco

Four sexy college girls decide to rob a restaurant to to fund their spring break vacation. At a party policemen take them to jail, where a well-known drug and arms dealer Alien (J. Franco) bails them out of the jail...

The movie is just... DIRTY. Too dirty. I wanted to see it, because Selena is there, but her role is so weak, because she is not as important for the whole movie as other girls are, however she is the cleverest person in the movie in my opinion. She knows that all of the stuff that is going on is bad, but then she just gets out...
The movie doesn't have a story. It's all about sex, hot girls (their breasts and butts) and about the relationship between Alien and those girls...
I DON'T recommend that movie, because I think it's stupid, disgusting and gross... good only when you're too horny for a meaningful story...

Beauty & the Briefcase (2010)

My rating: ★★★★ 4/10
Comedy | Romance
USA, 2010, TV Movie - 83 minutes
Stars:  Hilary Duff, Chris Carmack, Michael McMillian

An unemployed writer, Hilary Duff, tries to find a good romantic story about finding love in workplace for Cosmopolitan magazine and goes undercover at a Finance Company.

I think every girl sometimes needs to see a stupid and VEEEEERY predictable romantic movie. Well, I was in that mood a two weeks ago, so I decided to watch this movie.
Hilary Duff mostly plays a silly girl and she keeps playing that girl in the Beauty & the Briefcase. One of the most stupid thing is, how her new boss takes her to a new work even though she doesn't even know, what means a name of her new position. BUT! I like her new boss, I like that idea of written pros of almost every men in the movie and I almost died when I saw this sexy man (Matt Dallas), so it REALLY disappointed me, when I realized, that he's not...
But, girls, if you are in the mood of watching stupid and most predictable movies, watch this ;-)

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008)

My rating: ★★★★★★8,5
Comedy | Romantic
USA, 2008, 86 minutes
Stars:  Michael Cera, Kat Dennings...

High school student Nick O'Leary, member of the Queercore band The Jerk Offs, meets college-bound           Norah Silverberg when she asks him to be her
boyfriend for five minutes. (from IMDB.com)

This movie absolutely captured me. I like Michael Cera from other movies, where I saw him and Kat Dennings isn't as ordinary as some of the actresses in teen movies. And I would not say this is everyday teen movie. Some people say it's a 'road movie' and I just agree with them.
Michael's ex is pretty, okay, but she is just stupid and when he did what he did, it annoyed me a lot! =D
Perfect movie. And music is brilliant.

P.S. - Norah has a BIG face... you see, when they kiss. =D

Pride and Prijudice (2005)

My rating: ★★★★★★★★★★10
Drama | Romance
Great Britain/France, 2005, 127 minutes
Stars: Keira Knightley, Matthew Macfadyen, Brenda Blethyn...

Spirited Elizabeth Bennet meets single, rich, and proud Mr. Darcy. But Mr. Darcy doesn't want to fall in love with a woman beneath his class. Can each overcome their own pride and prejudice?

Dear friends, this is a legendary and brilliant story, which was written by a talented and well-known writer Jane Austen. I like Keira Knightley and I think the actor playing Mr. Darcy is absolutely sexy even though he has sideburns.=D

I love even the fact he smiles only 2 times throught these 127 minutes.

If you haven't already read or seen this movie, YOU HAVE TO. =)
It's legendary how I said.

(500) Days of Summer (2009)

My rating: ★★★★★★★★8

Comedy | Drama | Romance
USA, 2009, 91 minutes

Stars:  Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zooey Deschanel, Geoffrey Arend, ChloĆ« Grace Moretz...

Unusual (in that good way) story of a woman, who doesn't believe in a true love and a man, who falls for her.

I love the idea of the days (if you watch it, you understand). I love these actors/actresses. And I love soundtrack!
I wouldn't say it's a drama movie. But, you know, there is drama written in every page on every movie...
So, I don't think so, because the end gives a new chance of happy life to the man.
I recommend!!! =)

P.S.: My 22-year-old sister love the movie... =D

Flipped (2010)

My rating: ★★★★★★★★★9,5

Comedy | Romance
USA, 2010, 90 minutes

The love story of two young people, who are as different as they can be.

This is one of my favourite romantic movies, although it´s unconventional love story to put it into a movie. I love the way the story is told, because you see it from 2 views - the girl´s and the boy´s. I also love that boy,´cause his eyes are magic and his smile is just PERFECT. I recommend that movie. It´s flawless. =)

Ballet Shoes (2007)

My rating:  ★★★★★★★7,5

Family

Great Britain, 2007, 90 minutes
Stars:  Emilia Fox, Emma Watson, Richard Griffiths...

This is a beautiful story of three talented orphan girls (Pauline, Petrova and Posy), adopted by Uncle Matthew, in 1930 in London.

I really love that movie, although it´s a TV film. You can see three absolutely cute and ambitious girls how they try to make some money and make their dreams come true. I don´t know what else to say. I just want you to watch it and tell me, if you like it or not. =)

Ice Princess (2005)

My rating: ★★★★★★6

Comedy / Romantic / Sport
USA / Canada, 2005, 95 minutes

I watched it for the second time =)

Intelligent Cassie (Michelle Trachtenberg) wants to be a figure skater. But her mother imagine her as a student on Harvard, because Cassie is really good in physics. But Cassie is very tallented as a figure skater...

I like Michelle Trachtenberg. You can know her like Georgina Sparks from Gossip Girl. But here she looks like ordinary and nice girl, but she´s not so ordinary. She is very talented and intelligent girl. I like her performances or how to call it. She´s charming =)
I recommend this movie for girls in the age of 11-16 =) It´s cute and not boring movie.
P.S.: I heard some people talk that Hayden Pantierre should be the main character, BUT I don´t think so. For me Michelle Trachtenberg is more likeable than Hayden and better for this movie.

The Proposal (2009)

Comedy / Romantic
USA, 2009, 103 minutes

Okay, I watched it with my sister, again... =D

Great editor of books Margaret (Sandra Bullock) has to depart to her native Canada. But she makes  a plan: she says that she´s actually engaged with her assistent Andrew (Rayn Reynolds). He doesn´t know anything about it. Then he agrees, but with some conditions. They go to the Alaska to meet his parents and continue with their small secret...

Well, I admit, I don´t like Sandra Bullock very much, but she´s perfect for this movie. And Ryan Reynolds? I love him. They are perfect couple. Some scenes are REALLY funny. I totally like this movie and I recommend it to you =)

9 (2009)

Animated / Adventure / Fantasy / Sci-Fi
USA, 2009, 79 minutes

Some people told me it is a great movie...

People aren´t here anymore. There are just some rag dolls with numbers. Number 9 is born. Maybe that doll will save the world...

What to say? Well, I just like animated movies, which are funny. THIS WASN´T FUNNY. OK, maybe it has some message to us, people, but if you don´t enjoy watching it, what then? It is good movie, but probably not for my age category (15). But I recommend it, ´cause I know it is a good movie... But the dolls look really great! ;)
